Junior Cloud Engineer – Hybrid (Bogotá) 🌍

We are looking for a talented Junior Cloud Engineer to join our team in Bogotá. In this role, you will collaborate on the design, development, and implementation of cloud-based solutions on AWS. You will work closely with a dynamic team of cloud engineers, developers, and architects to support and implement cloud strategies for our clients, including services like ECS, EKS, EC2, Application Migration Services, Directory Services, RDS, S3, and more.

📍 Location: Hybrid in Bogotá – 3 days remote, 2 days in the office

Responsibilities:

• Assist in Cloud Implementations: Help design and implement cloud architectures on AWS, ensuring they meet client needs.
• Collaborate on AWS Services: Work with teams to implement services like ECS, EKS, RDS, and S3.
• Security and Monitoring: Conduct security assessments and implement best practices to protect infrastructure and applications. Monitor cloud infrastructure and on-premise systems for high availability, performance, and security.
• Chef Cookbook Development:
  • Assist senior engineers in writing Chef recipes to automate infrastructure deployment and system configuration, such as Amazon Linux.
  • Learn to manage server configurations (application, web, database) through Chef.
  • Help maintain and update existing Chef recipes for new software versions and patches.
  • Monitor ticket queues for Chef-related issues and assist in resolving them.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating Chef Automate in AWS environments under supervision.
  • Discover how Chef integrates with Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

Qualifications:

• +1 year of experience as a professional in IT infrastructure, with experience in at least 4 of the following areas:
  • AWS management (design, implementation, and/or management).
  • On-Premise architectures (storage, networking, server virtualization, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of networking and core Internet protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and routing in distributed networks.
  • Experience in deploying and managing databases like SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
  • Experience or knowledge in Active Directory solutions implementation and administration.
  • Experience or knowledge in firewall implementation and administration.
  • Experience in scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, Python for operations automation using scripts and tools.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using technologies like CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform.
  • Experience in designing and/or managing container-based solutions using orchestrators like ECS, EKS, or bare K8s.

Additional Valued Experience:

• Experience managing, designing, and implementing solutions in other clouds (Azure, GCP, etc.).
• Certifications in AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, etc.
• Intermediate English proficiency.

Certifications:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or equivalent is preferred but not required.
